Low insurance penetration in the country and lack of awareness about insurance related issues has been a recurring concern. Taking note of these issues, IRDA has launched a consumer education website to spread awareness and educate consumers for buying insurance cover. The website provides general alerts, answer to frequently asked questions (FAQs), ways to deal with intermediaries,  tips on buying insurance, standard claims procedures/documentation and Dos and Don’ts for policyholders.
